With the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough on the edge and within easy reach of York, one of the easier to get to National Parks especially if you have your own transport and are in the area. The road to Whitby crosses part of the moors and there is a steam train that runs daily from April to October between Pickering and Whitby stopping at scenic stations website.
